Vintage UH1

My brother-in-law Todd and I standing next to an old Hewey at Boulder City Nevada. Although not evident from this photo, the helicopter appears to be maintained in flying condition. The rotor and linkage had recently been painted. I'd love to take a flight in one of these!

My Travels

A little about me first, I'm a private pilot who lives in Southern California. So as any of you follow pilots will know, negotiating the complicated airspace near LAX can be a real challenge. Thank goodness for GPS! I got my license in February of 2003. I fly regularly with my father in his 1978 Piper Turbo Arrow III. The Arrow is a very nice airplane to fly and the turbo does a great job especially at high altitude airports like Big Bear and Mammoth Lakes. My father had it restored with a brand new, stripped to the metal paint job and a brand new leather interior. We get comments all the time from fellow pilots wondering if its a new airplane. Most are surprised to find out that its a low-time 78.

Anyway, this blog is about my travels as a private pilot. Most of what will be posted here is pictures of where I've been and the interesting thing's I've seen. Well, I should say where my father and I have been. Hope you enjoy.
